Epping Forest

I have now been leading fungi forays into Epping Forest for the past 8 years. It is one of the larger sites that I visit. Some 1,200 species of fungi have been recorded here over the years by various mycologists and it is partially because of this large number of recorded fungi species that the forest became 'A Site of Special Scientific Interest'.

Hampstead Heath, smack-bang in the middle of London, people have been flocking to this wonderful green space for centuries, for recreation purposes of one sort or another and 'mushroom forays' on the heath are no exception.
