Start with an absorbent piece of card, like an index card.  Cut in half.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Make a hole in the cenre of the card big enough to accomoodate the fungi stalk

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Put the stalk inside the hole so the cap rests on the card.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Get a small jar and fill with some water.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rest card with mushroom on top of jar. The stalk should slightly touch water but not be submerged.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leaving this overnight or for approximately eight hours will result in a full spore print. Remember, the spore print is sometimes white so if this is the case, you will need to look carefully and hold up to the light.
