All workshops include a two to three walk and are conducted at the Education Center on Hampstead Heath except our Fungi Boutique (wine & dine lunch) which is conducted at the home of Andy Overall.

The workshop kicks off at 10am where we establish a basic understanding of fungi, the role it plays in the environment and the vital characteristics we must be aware of when making an identification. We then take this new found knowledge out for a walk where we find and identify the various types of fungi as a group. The two hour walk will be followed by your packed lunch (or lunch at the nearby cafe) and then a group exercise where you have the opportunity to put your new skills to the test.

In terms of attire, please have a sensible pair of walking shoes or ‘wellies’ if it’s wet weather. If it is raining I would suggest waterproof trousers as well as jackets if you have them available. Layers always work well with our unpredictable British weather too………it’s amazing how changeable the climate can be within several hours.

 

Lots of tea, coffee & biscuits available throughout the day which ends approximately 4pm.
